What followed was an unforgettable day filled with courage, discipline, and outstanding achievements.
🏆 Champions Crowned
This year’s tournament brought remarkable success for our team:
🥇 Sensei Garry Haines – British Veterans Knockdown Champion
A testament to resilience and warrior spirit, Sensei Garry dominated the Veterans Division with power, precision, and an unbreakable mindset. His victory is the result of years of hard training and unwavering dedication to the knockdown discipline. A proud moment for our dojo!
🥇 Elai Button – British Champion (Boys 14–15, 60–65 kg)
Young talent Elai Button shone brilliantly, earning the title of British Champion in his category. Elai showcased exceptional technique, controlled aggression, and maturity far beyond his years. His future in the sport is incredibly bright, and this achievement is surely just the beginning.
Shihan Alwyn Heath led the team with his trademark calm authority and unwavering belief in his students, guiding them through every moment of the tournament. His experience and steady presence on the sidelines were a constant source of strength. Working alongside him, Sensei Denise Jones brought her sharp eye, encouragement, and supportive energy, ensuring every fighter stepped onto the mat focused, prepared, and confident. Together, they created the perfect balance of discipline.
Overall, it was a day full of effort, teamwork, and genuine Kyokushin spirit. Everyone who competed, coached, or supported should feel incredibly proud. These results don’t happen by accident; they’re built on countless hours of training, dedication, and the strength of our dojo community.
Many congratulations to everyone. OSU!
