Success for Pontypridd Kyokushin at So-Kyokushin British Tournament

Members of Pontypridd Kyokushin proudly represented their dojo at today’s Clicker competition, held as part of the So-Kyokushin British Tournament in Barry. The event brought together talented martial artists from across the UK, showcasing skill, spirit, and the true spirit of Kyokushin karate.

The team delivered outstanding performances, with several students achieving podium finishes:

  • 🥇 Luke Rees – 1st place, Senior Men’s Kata

  • 🥉 Petra Williams – 3rd place, Senior Women’s Kata

  • 🥇 Phil Barrett – 1st place, Men’s Clicker

  • 🥈 Imogen Peart – 2nd place, Girls’ Clicker
  • Barry Morgan – unplaced

The team was expertly coached throughout the day by Sensei Garry Haines, whose guidance and encouragement helped the competitors perform at their very best.

We would also like to congratulate the students from MOKKO’s Barking Dojo on their achievements, and extend our gratitude to Barry Kyokushin for the warm invitation and excellent organisation of the tournament.

It was a fantastic day of karate, teamwork, and friendship – a true celebration of the Kyokushin spirit. Osu!
