Celebrating Success at the Sokyokushin British Championships

The club proudly celebrates the outstanding achievements of its members at the Sokyokushin British Championships held in Barry last Saturday. The dedication, skill, and perseverance displayed by our athletes have earned them well-deserved recognition and a collection of impressive trophies. From left to right:

• Coach Sensei Denise Jones: A dedicated mentor who has guided and supported the team throughout their journey.
• Sensei Luke Rees: A master of precision and grace, Luke secured 1st place in the Men’s Kata category, demonstrating his exceptional technical skills and deep understanding of the art.
• Olani Kitaba-Davies: Proving his versatility and strength, Olani clinched 1st place in the Cadets Semi-Contact division and earned 2nd place in the Cadets Clicker category.
• Ashton Nichols: Another shining star in the Cadets category, Ashton achieved 1st place in Semi-Contact and 2nd place in Clicker, highlighting his prowess and focus.
• Sempai Petra Williams: A skilled practitioner, Petra took 2nd place in the Ladies Kata, showcasing her dedication and expertise in this challenging discipline.
• Coach Sensei Garry Haines: A pillar of support and wisdom for the team, ensuring that each member performs to the best of their abilities.
• Head Coach Shihan Alwyn Heath: Standing at the back, Shihan Alwyn Heath, the Head Coach, is the driving force behind the team’s success, providing unparalleled guidance and leadership.

Not pictured but also deserving of recognition is Taya Caddy, who displayed commendable skill and determination, securing 2nd place in the Cadets Clicker category.

The Sokyokushin British Championships presented a fantastic platform for our athletes to showcase their abilities and make their mark on the national stage.
