European Championships April 1st 2023

I travelled to Sweden on Friday 31st March 2023 with sensei Denise Jones for the European Senior Knockdown Championships. Arrived at the hotel and had about 3 hours before I had to go to the EKO Annual General Meeting of Bracnh Chiefs & Country Representatives.  New EKO board members were voted in and future tournament dates discussed and EKO policy for the next 4 years.  After 4 hours we adjourned for a very nice VIP welcome dinner, where I chatted and reaquainted friendships.

The following day we went to an action-packed European Championships with some exciting Knockdowns and Demos.   After returning to the hotel for a shower and change of clothes it was straight on to the Sayonara Party for some very nice food, drink and entertainment.  We eventually retired to bed and the next day left for the airport.  Unfortunately, our flight from Sweden to Amsterdam was delayed which means we missed our connecting flight in Amsterdam at 4.00 pm, and were stuck in the airport till the next flight at 10.30 pm.  We eventually got home at 1.00 am exhausted and fed up!!!   Still, a good time to meet everybody again and watch exciting fights & Kata.
